Djokovich loses in the second round of Masters

The Serb tennis legend, Novak Djokovich, lost his opening duel in Monte Carlo. He even worsened his last year’s result at this Masters – defeat in the third round.

This time, Novak couldn’t deal with Davidovich-Fokina. The Spaniard was better in the first and third sets, winning them confidently. The only set with tough opposition was in the second one.

As a result, Alejandro finalised the score of 6:3, 6:7(1), and 6:1 in his favour against the heavy favourite. Note that there are 45 players between Djokovich and Davidovich-Fokina in the ATP rankings.

Such a negative result for Serb is surely the lack of tournament practice. Thus, in 2022, Novak played only one event and was sent off the Australian Open and satellite tournaments due to covid-vaccination issues.
