5th-week results in the IPL

The first month of the new IPL season came to an end with the interesting matches that happened during the last weekend.

Friday brought for viewers a triller with both Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals to score 200+. And while the 15 run gap in favour of RR looks quite convincing, none knows how the situation could go if DC didn’t finish the 19th over with a zero. Nonetheless, 207/8 – 222/2 in favour of RR with another ton for Buttler not to miss in the reports. The Royals took their fifth victory in seven games and continued to be in a leading group, while the Capitals remained with only three wins in seven games.

Saturday games were not so impressive in terms of runs’ number. League leaders, Gujarat Titans, overpassed Kolkata Knight Riders. GT opened the game batting first but finished with a moderate result of 156 for nine, giving all the chances to KKR. However, the chasing team failed and scored only 148 for eight, leaving the Titans as the sole leader in the standing with six wins in seven games. Knight Riders now are closer to the bottom with only three victories in eight clashes.

The battle of the leading teams also happened on Saturday, but Royal Challengers Bangalore totally failed their batting against Sunrisers Hyderabad. RCB scored a disastrous 68 runs in 16.1 and left the pitch before time. Of course, SRH easily chased the opponents in only eight overs, scoring a needed 72 with a single wicket loss. It allowed the latter to grab 10 points and join the leading group, while Royal Challengers were also in the pursuit with the same amount of points but worsened RR after this game.

On Sunday, the public saw only a single battle between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians. A ton from skipper Rahul allowed LSG to finish batting with 168 for six, but the struggling MI failed to chase even such a result. 132 for eight and the deserved bottom place for the Indians with zero points. Lucknow franchise, on the contrary, is in the leading group with 10 points. Want to know more about cricket and don’t miss the important news?
