Djokovic lost the final of the ATP tournament in Belgrade to Rublev

728х90-2

The final of the ATP 250 clay tournament took place in Belgrade. Local favourite and world leader Novak Djokovic lost to Andrey Rublev in the title match.

The final game started with the confident win of the Russian sportsman, who gave only two games in the opening set. However, the Serb fought back in the second one, winning it on tie-break with a score of 6:7.

At the same time, the lack of practice seemed to influence the preparation of Novak. Thus, Djokovic looked tired in the last set and didn’t even take a game – 6:0. For the first time since losing in the Roland Garros 2020 final, Djokovic lost a set with no games taken. Nonetheless, the event’s low status didn’t influence both athletes’ positions, so Djokovic stayed the first, while Rublev is still the eighth in the ATP rankings.
