IPL 2022 – results in the middle of the season

The conversations about IPL are always related to tough games and unpredictable results. And the 15th edition confirms this idea perfectly – the two most titled teams are struggling in the competition. Especially disastrous looks the situation for Mumbai Indians, who are in the bottom with zero points in eight games. While Chennai Super Kings grabbed two victories during the same period, their chances for the playoffs are much better.

The situation for Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals is also not great – both teams took three victories in eight and seven games, respectively. Of course, the fourth victory for DC will improve their positions, but now their results are worse than they expected. The bottom part of the table also has Punjab Kings with a score of eight points in eight games, which makes them the closest pursuer of the leading group. At the same time, they have to win more than half of the games to enter the playoff list.

The upper part of the table contains three teams with 10 points each. Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad took five victories in eight games, while Royal Challengers Bangalore took the same number of victories in nine clashes. Those teams look stable during the season and will surely pretend for the playoff spot after the second round of the IPL.

Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals deservedly take the top-2 places. Moreover, league newcomers have only one defeat after eight matches, and show great cricket throughout the season. RR made one more mistake and lost two battles, but still, they looked confident with 12 points.

Of course, that is only the middle of the race, but trends are clear. And the situation with two favourites to be in the bottom while two newcomers at the top – that is what we all expect from IPL every year.
