Estonian tennis player Anett Kontaveit became the winner of the Kremlin Cup-2021 in Moscow


In the tournament’s final in the Russian capital, the 25-year-old Estonian defeated home tennis player Ekaterina Alexandrova in three sets. Kontaveit lost the first game (4:6) but won two sets in a row – 6:4 and 7:5.

In the course of the women’s singles of the Kremlin Cup in singles, Anett also left behind the tournament Katerina Siniakova (6:3, 6:3), Andrea Petkovic (6:1, 6:4), Garbine Muguruza (6:1, 6:1) and Marketa Vondrousova (6:3, 6:4).

This is only the fourth singles title for Contaveite in her career. She has previously won competitions in Rosemallen (Netherlands), Cleveland (USA) and Ostrava (Czech Republic).
