Canadian team beats Spaniards to win 2022 ATP Cup


The ATP Cup-2022 team tournament ended in Melbourne, Australia, with the victory of Canada. The Canadians defeated Spain in the final confrontation thanks to two singles victories from Denis Shapovalov and Felix Auger Alyassime.

In the first match of the day, a 22-year-old Shapovalov took the lead with a score of 6:4, 6:3, defeating Pablo Carreño-Busta. A 21-year-old Auger Aliassime coped with Roberto Bautista-Agut – 7:6 (3), 6:3.

Recall that in the semifinals, the Canadians beat the champions of the ATP Cup-2021 – the Russian national team.
