For a long time, supporters of Indian cricket were hoping for their captain to score a ton. And he made it, but in catching opponents, balls but not in batting.

This achievement requires attention as he is only the sixth man in the history of India to accomplish it. Kohli made it on the second day of the 3rd Test, which is now in play in South Africa. The result of the second day brought plenty of intrigue in the last Test clash between the Proteas and Men in Blue. Thus, the first innings by the guests finished with 223 runs, while the hosts made 210 deliveries.

Interestingly, Kohli was pretty close to scoring a needed hundred and was the most productive player across both sides in terms of batting. He scored 79 from 201 balls. The second innings finished for him much worse – only 29 runs, but he significantly tested bowlers and forced them to throw 143 balls. Reminding, India is now on the South African tour, where they should play Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. Want to know more about sport and don’t miss the important news?
