Australia destroyed England in the third Test and retained the Ashes

The third Test game between Australia and England finished with another confident victory of the hosts. The Aussies were way better in all three matchups and sent Britishers packing before the New Year.

The last game finished on the third day when the guests were batting. After 185 runs in the first innings, England had slight chances to return to the battle for the Ashes as Australia wasn’t too confident in the responsive batting. The host scored comparatively few – only 267 runs.

However, even this number was enough to close the series before the hosts’ second innings. Australian bowlers smashed English batters in the 27th over, giving them only 68 runs. Even in sum, two innings by visitors brought 14 fewer runs than hosts hit in the single innings.

The Aussies saved the Ashes for the third series in a row after winning it in 2018. The remaining Tests will be for prestige only, but nothing can help England this time with such a performance.
