The Indians felt that they had been robbed of a win in the first Test against New Zealand because of problems with light in Nagpur. The hosts decided not to take any risks in the second match and left no questions with the winner actually after the first innings.

Their staggering 325 and 276 runs were opposed only by 62 and 167 points by the guests. There were no chances for New Zealand to win this game. This match seemed to be done even before New Zealand’s frustrated batting. India was focused and scored 325 runs in the first innings, using 110 overs. Agarwal solely scored an impressive 150 runs, while Kohli, Pujara, and Ashwin weren’t able to convert any of their few touches.

Although the second innings should become a training session, Indians weren’t keen to make it anxious in any way. Another good batting has brought 276 runs in 70 overs, making the situation dire for the hosts. The Kiwis have 539 points to chase in the second innings, but they have only slightly improved their batting. All in all, the second Test ended with a confident 372-run victory after only 167 runs by the guests.

If the covid splash doesn’t outgrow into a serious problem, India can now prepare for the long-lasting tour to South Africa. The team is well-prepared for the opening duels, which will also be in Test format. Want to know more about sport and don’t miss the important news?
