New Delhi: Russia is planning to introduce the single-dose COVID-19 vaccine ‘Sputnik Lite’ in India quickly, its ambassador to the nation, Nikolay Kudashev, mentioned on Sunday (Might 16, 2021). 

Kudashev was chatting with ANI after the supply of the second batch of Sputnik V coronavirus vaccines in Hyderabad.

On the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine, Kudashev mentioned Russia expects that its manufacturing in India shall be regularly elevated by 850 million doses per 12 months. 

“Wanting ahead to additional increasing our bilateral and multilateral cooperation with India to cease the pandemic,” he mentioned.

He added that the efficacy of Sputnik V is well-known on this planet and again in Russia, it’s being efficiently used to vaccinate residents beginning within the second half of 2020.

Sputnik V was accredited to be used in India on April 12, 2021, and granted an emergency use authorisation. Sputnik V has joined Covaxin and Covishield within the COVID-19 immunisation drive in India.
