Bayern Munich defender David Alaba will be playing for Real Madrid from the next season. As Sky Germany informs, the Austrian representative reached an agreement with the Kings on the terms of a five-year contract.

The 28-year-old player’s current contract with Bayern Munich and he will leave the Bavarian club on a free transfer basis. The German champions were interested in extending the contract with him, but both sides failed to come to an agreement on this issue. Alaba rejected, inter alia, a contract offer guaranteeing him a salary of 13 million pounds per year. Talks on this matter were finally interrupted in November.

From January, Alaba was able to talk freely with other clubs and according to reports Sky Germany decided to move to Madrid. The contract has not yet been signed, but it should happen soon. Official announcements from both sides can also be expected soon.

13 years in Bayern

Alaba will say goodbye to Bayern after thirteen years in Munich. Since the beginning of his stay at the Bavarian club, he has played for it 427 times in all competitions, scoring 33 goals and adding 53 assists.

The Austrian is not the only player to leave Bayern at the end of the season on a free transfer basis.
